Program
Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program with a strong Sino-German focus jointly run by University of Mannheim, Mannheim Business School (Germany) and Tongji University, School of Economics & Management (Shanghai, China).
Structure & Duration
- The modular structure maximizes flexibility (timeframe of your choice: minimum = 1.5 years, maximum = 5 years).
- The program consists of six modules on different management subjects (three in Mannheim and three in Shanghai) which last nine to eleven days. Each module consists of different hard and soft skill courses (24 courses in total).
- It is possible to start the EMBA program with each one of the modules or with every course and it is also possible to only attend single modules or courses.
- To receive their EMBA degree participants will complete a Master Project (MP) at the end of the program.

Location
The university-based Mannheim Business School (MBS) is the leading German business school. It is the only German institution to be accredited by AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA.
Tongji University at Shanghai is one of the leading universities directly under the State Ministry of Education in China. Its School of Economics & Management (SEM) is well-known for its education in Business Administration, Public Administration and Applied Science as well as for its outstanding research.
Admissions Requirements
- a first undergraduate degree
- significant work experience (ideally at least 8 years)
- commitment, motivation, and willingness to contribute
- very good English skills (tested in the selection interview, ideally TOEFL or IELTS)

Application Process
We are on rolling admissions, therefore an early application is highly recommended (at least 8 weeks before the course begins).
Typical Class Profile
- Different nationalities, mainly European and Asian
- Educational backgrounds: business administration, engineering, natural sciences, law, economics and social sciences
- Professional backgrounds: automotive, energy, high-tech, pharmaceuticals, IT, banking, aerospace industry, government and non-profit organizations
- Since all courses are open for enrollment and due to the flexible modular format there is a continuous change of class constellations. This way, networking opportunities are maximized
Language
All course material is in English. Courses will be fully taught in English (with simultaneous interpretation in Chinese).
